Our Board Members
Our Board oversees the management of SPORCH, both its current projects and for projects that will lead it into the future. Our projects are global. So far we have sent art and altar cards to 32 countries. We have received the endorsment of Cardinal Burke. (For an overview of our accomplishments, go to our About page.)
Seeking Board Members
We are currently looking for new board members and directors who would like to be a part of this exciting mission. Candidates should be active Catholic church members. The Board and it's Officers are responsible for:
- Understanding and promoting the organization's mission, programs and operations, determining how the organization carries out its mission through long and short range planning
- Advocating on behalf of the organization, educating the community
- Adopting an annual budget and providing fiscal oversight
- Recruiting, orienting and developing board members
- Hiring and evaluating the performance of the executive director
- Evaluating its performance and the overall performance of the organization in achieving its mission
- Establishing policies for the effective management of the organization
Officers Responsibilities also include:
- Being a working member of at least one board committee
- Participating in resource development and fundraising
- Making an annual gift to the organization commensurate with one's ability
- Reviewing board meeting materials before meetings
- Reviewing financial information for submission to the Internal Revenue Service
